Frequently Ask Questions?
1. How do you qualify for Star Rehab Therapy Services?
Unlike home health agencies covered under Medicare Part A, patients do not need to be homebound or qualify for skilled care. As long as patients demonstrate medical necessity for physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy services, Star Rehab Therapy may be covered by Medicare Part B and other private insurance.
2. Do you accept Insurance?
We are a Medicare B in-network provider, ensuring seamless access to our services for Medicare beneficiaries. For other insurance plans, we are typically out of network. However, we're committed to helping you navigate your insurance coverage. We can communicate with your insurance company to ascertain your benefits. If you have out-of-network coverage, we can furnish you with a Superbill for submission to your insurance provider. We advise reaching out to your insurance directly to confirm coverage details for optimal clarity and transparency.
3. Where would I get Treatment?
A therapist will schedule a time in the comfort of your home. Patients do not have home-bound requirements for Medicare B patients.
4. Will my insurance cover outpatient rehab therapy?
Medically necessary therapy services are covered under Medicare B and most managed and commercial plans. Contact the Star Rehab Therapy team to take the first step towards accessing recovery at home. Connect with Us
5. What types of conditions can physical therapy and occupational therapy help with in older adults?
We offer a wide range of services tailored to support your recovery journey, spanning from post-surgical rehabilitation, such as joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and cardiac procedures, to comprehensive rehabilitation for neurological conditions. Our expertise extends to Dementia care, Geriatric rehab, fall prevention, Home safety, post-stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson's disease management, and various other chronic neurological conditions. Whatever your rehabilitation needs may be, we're here to provide personalized care and support every step of the way.
6. How can I schedule an appointment for a physical therapist, Occupational Therapist, or speech therapist as a senior?
Scheduling an appointment is easy! Simply call to schedule or schedule a free 15-minute consultation with our expert Therapist to help you make an informed decision.
7. How can I supplement physical therapy at home while I am already on Home health therapy and nursing?
At Star Rehab Therapy, we're dedicated to helping you achieve your rehabilitation goals efficiently. We cannot bill your insurance while you are already getting the skilled services with a Home health agency. This service will be a self-pay for the patient until you are discharged from that agency.
8. Do you help with Caregiver Training?
Yes, we do. Simply schedule a free consultation to go over your needs.
9. How do I go about getting a new wheelchair, walker, or other Durable Medical Equipment (DME) supplies?
Obtaining a wheelchair or any medical equipment usually involves a comprehensive assessment by a qualified therapist, crucial for insurance purposes. Additionally, a prescription from your doctor is necessary. We collaborate with local vendors to ensure the equipment is delivered and fitted to your specific needs.
10. Do I need a prescription to start physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech Therapy?
We strongly recommend that every patient begin our services with a prescription or order from their doctor. Once you start your services with us, we maintain communication with your doctor and provide them with your personalized plan of care after your evaluation for their approval. This collaborative approach ensures comprehensive care and coordination between all involved parties.
11. How often is the home PT session?
A typical therapy session is tailored to address your specific needs and goals. The frequency of sessions can vary, ranging from two to four times per week, determined by your initial assessment and ongoing progress.
12. Can I see an occupational or physical therapist without billing Medicare?
If you are eligible for Medicare, we legally must bill Medicare for skilled and medically necessary treatment. If and when the care becomes maintenance therapy, then we phase to a private pay plan.
13. Requirements to Get Started:
Copy of State ID, insurance cards front and back, including Medicare card. Patient’s date of birth. Contact information for follow-up/scheduling
14. What should I expect from my first visit?
Your therapist will complete a comprehensive assessment, including asking you about your symptoms (i.e., physical, cognitive, emotional) and exploring functional issues in detail. This helps the therapist understand what it is you need and want you want to do in your everyday life, as well as what barriers may be in the way of achieving your goals. You and your therapist will develop a treatment plan, which can include specific treatment interventions (e.g., adaptive equipment, activity grading), education, and targeted rehabilitation exercises and strategies to get you back to your activities that matter most.
15. Who can benefit from Outpatient at Home Physical Therapy?
Our services are designed for adults —especially seniors — who have difficulty traveling to a clinic but want to stay active and independent. We help people with balance problems, weakness, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, and neurological conditions. If you want care at home, and want to improve your mobility, safety, and confidence at home, our team can help.
16. Why should medical providers refer patients to Star Rehab Therapy?
We aim to help patients regain their highest level of function and safety at home and prevent rehospitalizations. Over 90% of our patients remain in their homes after treatment. We partner with continuing care retirement communities, assisted and independent living facilities, hospitals, home health agencies, physicians, Accountable Care Organizations, managed care providers, hospice care, and other members of a care or community-based service team to bring outpatient rehabilitation services to your patients and residents in their home or community environment.
